When a trunkbox residing in a security gets mentioned in the opening script, you expect to find that an orphan's parents deposited it there, or maybe a lucky soldier who found a stash of dollars in Iraq, or Syria, or wherever the current war is being fought. But this scammer tried something... different.
The scammer's emails are date-stamped; his name has been changed. My comments are in bold.
Straight away we have something not used before to my knowledge (in red).

Good morning I'm Melissa Johnson by name from Ghana. I have a consignment box of the sum of ten million United state dollars and it is an abandoned consignment box that has been here in our security company for over 25 years now. and this box have been remove from our register list, the depositor was a foreigner who was a drug pusher and he was court and sentenced to death, So ever since then this consignment is here with no notice of the family and with no trace as well, Sir i want you to stand as the beneficiary and claim it, write back to me if you are interested okay.
I file the origin story away and move on, choosing a slightly different first response.
Dear Melissa
I received your email, and I have to ask; what exactly do you want me to do, and is it safe?
Regards
Malcolm Reynolds

Sir is safe and I want you to stand as the beneficiary of this fund so that the security company can release the fund to you and you and I will share the fund 50/50 so if you are interested let me know sir.
I'm usually not the kind to stifle creativity, but this time I'll make an exception.
Dear Melissa
I need a lot more detail than that.
For one thing, what exactly do you mean by "beneficiary"? Also, that money was deposited by a drug dealer; that makes it massively tainted, hence unsafe.
Regards
Malcolm Reynolds

Sir the drug dealer is dead and he has no beneficiary and right now this box is absolutely an abandoned box and is safe if you stand as the owner yes.
Dear Melissa
The drug dealer is dead. OK, fine! But money made by dealing in drugs is surely tainted money. How could that be otherwise?
Malcolm Reynolds
18 August
The security company is not aware that the owner of the fund is a drug dealer so do not worry about that, if you are interested just let me know so that we can proceed and get this done and be rest assured that everything is going to work fine okay.
Reassurances have been given, but Mal has another question.
Dear Melissa,
If the company doesn't know the source of that money... how come you know that?
Malcolm Reynolds
I don't know much about what rights are given to prisoners on sending emails, but I have my doubts about our drug pusher being able to do what's claimed.

19 August
Good morning sir are you still interested in the proposal?
It's time for the question I usually ask first.
Melissa
Given what you've told me so far, I have to ask what made you choose me to contact.
Malcolm Reynolds
19 August
Sir actually I saw your contact on the security company foreign investors list, that is why I contacted you Mr Malcolm Reynolds’s
That was a bad answer.
Melissa
I'm not an investor.
Tell me the truth.
Malcolm Reynolds
20 August
Investor or not I’m looking someone who is going to help me to safe the fund for safe keeping okay.
That's as may be, but I have to ask where you and the Security Company are.
21 August
We are in Ghana and we also have breach in Nigeria
Well, that makes a change from orphans' trunk boxes, but it's still as lame as all fuck.
21 August
This is an obvious attempt at entrapment.
Tell the finance minister he can go fuck himself.
22 August
What do you really mean sir
What do you think I mean?
23 August
Explain yourself okay

I know because when this drug dealer was in prison he messaged me on email and told me everything and told me to take very good care of his fund and he also said that I should invest it into a good business, Sir this is also one of the reasons why I want you and I to get this money out of the security company and sir be rest assured that everything is going to work out fine okay.

I think my Ghanaian finance minister modality is called for.
This is an obvious attempt at entrapment.
Tell the finance minister he can go fuck himself.

What do you understand by the word "entrapment"?
That seems to have pushed the scammer too far, because after that... nothing.
