I am writing you this short message from my hospital bed. It seems I have had a heart attack, but by the grace of God, I was spotted by my neighbour who called an ambulance.

I am being treated for at Darlington General Hospital. I feel better today, but my surgeon says another operation is needed in order for me to get well.

I am in good receipt of your document. As soon as I am out of hospital I will print it out, sign it and put it in the mail for you.

Discharged from hospital I decide to send John a gift...

Dear John,

I thank you so much for your well wishes and warm prayers on my behalf. I feel it was your prayer, my friend, that gave divine favor, and secured my speedy recovery.

I was discharged from hospital around noon today, and are scheduled to go back for another surgery later this month, where they will put in a pacemaker to make my ticker work properly.

While in hospital I have pondered a lot on how to repay and show gratitude for all your concern and tireless work on my behalf. Then it struck me; upon retirement from my company, Icarus Aviation, after 40 years of faithful service, I was awarded a rather valuable wrist watch, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual. Since I can no longer wear a watch, after an accident where I put my hand into a running jet turbine at work, I thought you should have it as a gift and token of my appreciation and gratitude.

So tiday, upon being discharged from hospital, I took the watch to the watchmaker to have the certificate of ownership signed over to you. I also had it appraised. According to the clerk it is a $3500 watch, so take good care of it, and think about your friend in England when you wear it.

So tonight, after saying prayers and reading Matt. 18:18 I lit the white candle of trust, packed the watch as well as the affidavit in a package, and sent it to your office address at the New York supreme court, and marked it with your name. To make it easier for you to recognize, I marked the package with the text of the day, Matt. 18:18. I am sure you understand the significance of that scripture verse.
