Sometimes it’s fun to paint a scammer into a corner and see how he tries to escape...
The scammer’s emails are date-stamped; his name has been changed. My comments are in bold.

Thanks for your email however our documents reads that it is an investment which your Great-Grandpa invested in that finally paid off, but before it paid of he was already deceased and he has made an entry at the security firm believing that if it pays off it should be deposited in his name and yours at the firm and you should be located to claim the inheritance.
Kindly get back to me and we will proceed from there.

Here's the thing. My great-grandpaw died in 1936, and I remember grandpaw Mitch telling me how what little he had went to settle his debts. They even had to sell off the clothes he'd set aside for his funeral. So I have to wonder how come there could have been money in Chase Bank, and no-one ever knew about it when his time came.
