CVS Worker tries to Romance/blackmail scam.

While at work, waiting for something to happen on a non production day I got to have a bit of fun with this scammer . They sent me a friend request and right away I knew it was BS. Having worked retail before, I knew instantly that nobody at CVS could afford to take a vacation to a nice beach like the one in the picture "she" shared. Also nobody working retail can also afford fine wine like she's drinking either... It was a pretty quiet night so I decided to have a little fun with this scammer and see how much I could BS this person into thinking I knew a lot about their claimed field of employment. 

Over all I rate this bait as "Meh" but it was a fun time waster and it also allowed me to practice the subtle art of BS. Half of this bait is also them trying to force their script through... even when it doesn't make sense. I was at first wondering if there was an actual human copy/pasting all of this... but thankfully they did start to abandon their script. Given their short replies, I questioned if they even knew English and how they expected to make any money from this scam without a glancing knowledge of English. I guess they planned on Copy/pasting someone into blackmail money? Seems pretty risky given all it takes is one response from the victim that doesn't match their script response to throw a wrench in the works to someone who might actually fall for this... if there actually is anyone who would. 



Oh yeah... btw you might have already noticed... but while I got the friend request I happened to be listening to Steve Martin's "The Cruel Shoes"... thus why the floating image in each shot... The Facebook page in these images no longer exists and Facebook quickly deleted it. I took the following photos because I thought it was one of the funniest and saddest things on earth... they actually think that people who work for CVS are able to afford that sort of lifestyle?

NOTE: They finally abandoned their script, but given their one word responses... I am pretty sure they don't know English, which has made me wonder a few times how they are able to make ANY money scamming...

NOTE: I wanted to sound intelligent and knowledgeable in the field of employment they claimed to be... so I googled the medicines used to fight the first disease I could think of... which was COVID. I wanted the names of actual prescription medicines on the off chance that this scammer actually googled the words I was using.

NOTE: It was at this time I tried responding a few times and noticed that I could NOT but didn't get any warning/reason from Facebook why I wasn't able to. I quickly found out that Facebook was actively deleting their account for violations of services. They had just opened this account less than an hour before contacting me. I am pretty sure other people they were talking to at the same time mass reported their account. This is the fastest I've seen Facebook Nuke a scammer's account. 

For those unfamiliar with the scam attempted in this conversation, they were trying to do the typical blackmail scam. I've dealt with this script a lot of times... they ask if you like sex and then try to get you to accept a video call from them on Facebook messenger. They will often have video playing on their end of a woman performing sexual acts and want you to have your camera on and recording yourself too. I've never gotten it past that point as I refuse to let them see me on camera. I often will have tape over the camera hole on my phone, or quickly switch to my computer (if possible/accessable) and accept the video call. They will often get notified that I either don't have a camera on my end (on computer) or see nothing but darkness as my camera is blocked (if I do accept it on the phone). They will often then get FURIOUS and demand that I accept the call but must have video and me appearing on the video.
