Two years ago I ran a bait against an incarnation of Godwin Emefiele, (then) governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which ended in confusion and frustration for the scammer; scambaitingforum.com/thread/1022/love-play-poker

But as it happens, Godwin Emefiele was arrested on 10 June this year... and a scammer decided to use this.

The scammer's emails are date-stamped; his name has been changed. My comments are in bold.

Two things about this email; the telephone number is the one that Emefiele had given, and the sum of $23.8 million was the amount that the notorious Lambert Starr offered Mal years ago.

Sir with all Humility and Sincerity I just want you to get back to me and kindly let me know the reason & condition the Former Governor of this Bank gave to you that made you never get this your Money into your Bank Account.
Also I will like you to let me know if you will be willing to comply with me so that you will get it now that we have New Government in power, and right now I am in control of everything.

You called Dr. Godwin Emefiele and One Dr. Charles Columbus “Fake” and why I said he is not Fake is because he is my predecessor, I was the one that take over from him that is the angel I am telling you that he is not Fake any other things he do with you is what I do not know unless you let me know.
Before God Almighty everybody know that Dr. Godwin Emefiele is not a Good person, even as I am writing this mail to you now, he is in detention with the Police DSS, over here in our Country, Even they took him to Court Yesterday been Thursday. I don't give a damn if you're a woman or someone's wife. It doesn't change the fact that I know that Emefiele and Columbus were fakes. You say that they aren't fakes, which is a contradiction, and contradictions don't exist. Check your premises; you'll find that one of them is wrong.
